  2. Final Walkthrough or Inspection: The landlord or property manager conducts a walkthrough to assess the property's condition, checking for damages, cleanliness, and whether the tenant has fulfilled their responsibilities outlined in the lease.
  3. Property Cleaning and Repairs: The tenant often cleans the property and may address minor repairs to ensure they meet the standards for getting their security deposit returned.
  4. Returning Keys: The tenant hands over keys and other access items like garage door openers to the landlord.
  5. Security Deposit Settlement: The landlord reviews the property's condition and returns the security deposit, deducting costs for any damages or cleaning required beyond normal wear and tear.
